The Birds

Every morning on my way to UTPA I see hundreds of birds all over the place. These pics were taken around 7:00 am (the first one and the last one were taken about a year apart)at the corner of Sugar and 107. In some areas of the campus, the trees are just full of these black birds. I think the whole area is a roosting place for the greckles. A former mayor in McAllen, the city just down the road, used to ride around with a shootgun to shoot these black birds. I believe that very early in the morning, someone (probably security) shoots off a shotgun on campus to scare off all the birds. You should see some of the sidewalks (or maybe you shouldn't).
