Butterflies, Papel Picado

This morning I was walking from the Administration Building back to my office when I noticed a bunch of butterflies around. I heard over the weekend that the Vally has about 300 different varieties of butterflies, some that exist only in this area. I just happened to have my phone/camera with me, so I snapped a couple, one of a Monarch Butterfly, I believe, and one of some yellow butterfly I spotted.

Last weekend we went to the museum to see some Dia de los Muertos exhibits, so I took this picture of a papel picado display. We also heard Viola Canales read a couple of selections from her books, The Tequila Worm, and Orange Candy Slices.
