Last December, someone kicked the front door of my home open, waltzed in and took several items while we were out, an obvious case of breaking and entering.

Last week, someone walked into a pawn shop at a nearby city and pawned one of the DVD players, setting off a flag in some police database. The investigator handling my case called and told me about it, asked if I knew anyone by the name used at the pawn shop, and told me they'd contact him for questioning. He also told me I'd get the DVD player back. All this came about because we'd given the serial numbres for some of the stolen items.

Hopefully, once they question that person, they'll get some more leads on the burglary.
